A review of Tatties Café Restaurant by Tatties-Trinity St written on Thursday 3rd of September 2009
Firstly I must apologise for you experience in Tatties on Sussex street and I am sad to hear what happened but I must make it clear to Tatties customers that the Tatties on Trinity street & Sussex Street have no longer any connection what so ever. We sold The Sussex Street cafe off In August time 2006 and have had problems ever since from customer to suppliers who are weary of trading with us due to the bad reputation The owner of Sussex Street has built up.
Tatties is a generic of Jacket Potato so we can not legally stop anyone using our name. When we sold the Sussex street branch that was with a gentlemans agreement that they would change the name, menu etc. Sinch selling it they have changed the colours from the 'Tatties Green' to a burgundy colour and added 'Cambridge Ltd' to their logo to avoid any prosecution.
We have heard complaint after complaint about the way they are running the business and at the moment we are really trying to seperate ourselves from them and trying get the word out that we trade completely different as a different business. We are trying very hard to differentiate ourselves from them with our service and the quality of our meals.
I very much hope that you have not been put off and welcome you into our Tatties, BAKED POTATO MERCHANTS SINCE 1981 - Trinity Street, Cambridge trading on from Tatties Regent Street, Cambridge - The original
