A review of Marmaris by Stay Strong written on Thursday 22nd of October 2009
I have read most of the messages left on this site, and cant imagine how any of you young ladies and the older ones, could possible want to live a life that is not your culture. dont get me wrong there are some very modern turkish families and they live very simular lives to ourselves, but the young men who flood in from the villages are completley different and do not want to change their way of life. they are brought up in the old ways and this is the way of life they really wish to keep. For many of these young men it is a sence of freedom and they spend their summer doing what boys do. But when the season is over they all return to the open arms of thier families who they have sent money too throughout the summer so that they may live a easy life through the winter. It is such a shame that there are so many ladies give all their love and trust to these men, and mostly end up with a broken heart. But deep down do you really want to revert back to the times when women were second best and had no freedom of speech, Because this is the way of life for the women back home in the villages. A true muslim will tell you that they could be disowned by their family if they choose to be with a westernised woman, but for the ladies who want to convert to their muslim way of life you have a very long and hard road to travel, and at the end you will still never be truely accepted by the parents of these men. This as come from someone who tried it and after 14years of marriage and trying so hard to become one of them i was never accepted, only the children were because they were brought up in the village as true muslim. Ladies please dont fight and argue as at the end of the day most of you will be left broken hearted..
