A review of Aldi by Katie The Outlander written on Saturday 10th of April 2010
Last year I got quite a few items ( tent, two sleeping bags, mens and womens trekking boots, waterproof sack, two big bagpacks). Year after I'm still impressed! I spent around 200 Euro on all this, and I know I could have spent 3 times more on items of same (if not worse!) quality if I was buying them in adventure shop.
Tent was tested in really harsh conditions (very heavy rain) and did grand. Sleeping bags can be zipped together which is great, and are light, warm and fluffy. Bagpacks are amazing - very functional, with applied all modern solutions that makes carrying them very comfortable. They also look great. Trekking boots have also been tested in different climates and weather, and have been doing grand. In general, I will always go for this brand. Quality and the look of the products is great and definitely not worse than of any of the branded ones. I think this is the case when one company produces the same items, and sells one part to Aldi for a low price (as they don't need to advertise etc), and the other is sold under different (well known) brand to the outdoor & adventure shops for 3 times more.
Highly recommended - and the camping season is coming, so we should see some extras from Adventuridge in Aldi soon :)
