A review of The Chequers Inn by Christopher James written on Sunday 30th of May 2010
From the outside of the pub we were impressed and we were greeted by a friendly barman. However, the carvery was a lot to be desired. There were a choice of two meats only, 1 being ham the other being a rare beef there was no other selection of meats. We asked the server if we could have some well-done beef instead but he refused. There wasn't much selection of vegetables but what there was, were hard. After finishing our meal and the plates were collected we were asked how our meals were, after describing the problems to the waitress there was no apology but lame excuses. To add to the problems the food was overpriced - you have been warned..
