A review of Saffron Brasserie by Saffron Rubbish written on Wednesday 2nd of June 2010
Having read that review, I was reminded of the time I went to the Saffron upon a positive recommendation.
Talk about disappointment, I hadn't been that upset since Cheryl Cole turned me down.
This place not only has very poor decor, but I found it unhygenic, the staff unhelpful and the food was disgusting.
The quality of the ingredients is poor, there seems very little care taken and everything has a manufactured feel to it rather than fresh.
I'd never go back here, truly awful.
I don't want to recommend my favourite as I don't want lots of people going there, but I am a curry expert and this place is the pits. Every other curry house in Cambridge is much better.
If you want a tasty takeaway however, Renus on Milton Road is fantastic and the onion bhajis have to be tried, you will not be disappointed. Don't eat the vindaloo though, it's stupidly hot and unedible even for the most cultured palate, unless you want to have a challenge; it's one that I won't be facing again...
