A review of Halfords by Cammy written on Tuesday 21st of September 2010
Halfords are woefully thin on staff and stock has taken me about a month and 4 differant stores, and about 4 differant bikes to actually get one for my cycle to work scheme, and the system online shows bikes in stock and then its only the display model which they wont have.
and about angry complaining customers i have worked in retail mamangement for over 5 years (not any more pay is better else where) and genrally complaints are made when shops are either badly run, or the quality of stock is low, at halford unfortunatly it seems to be both in some cases. they need to no scrimp on the recruiting and hire any joe smoe of the street but actually start to get specialist people in each department who actually know their own stock, and also how things work as a whole, eg for the camping equipment it seems no matter whoch halfods i go, none of them know a thing about taperd seams, double skin, what the hydrostatic head means what the uk recomemded hydostatic head is, and what it going to be suitable, they only need one member per department and contant training, as the bike huts are full of people who may know how to tweak a few things, fit a wheel, look to see if something is wrong, but they dont seem to be able to understand why, and that is the flaw..
