A review of Sharps Bedrooms Ltd by Mrs P written on Tuesday 10th of May 2011
After reading so many complaints and problems regarding Sharps.. after we had placed an order! I feel it is only fair to add our story regarding Sharps. Just on the off chance we had sharps come out for a no obligation quotation on our bedroom, as we had been hunting around for fitted wardrobes etc. and got chatting to the sales consultant in our local homebase and thought no harm in having somebody come out and give us a price.
The designer came out within a few days, arrived on time and ended up being here with us for 3/4hrs, (so don't expect a quick visit) The original price was OMG!!!!!!!!! massive!!!! so ... a discount here and then a bit more! oh and some more, then how much would we like to pay!? ..... phn call later and a another chat, order was placed. I must add if the price wasn't right we would not have placed the order. I don't know how they do their pricing but its bongers! Luckily we were in no hurry for delivery because it was at least 6/8weeks before we had a call arranging delivery off goods. Just because they call to arrange delivery don't think your bedroom has been build coz until delivery is arranged apparently they can't send the order to the manufacturer! In our experience they did push or try to push for a delivery date, don't give in arrange it when you are ready. Had to phn customer services couple of times to check some details as we had certain things to do during the fitting. I think it totally depends who you get on the phn as to how you get on or feel, 1 lady was awful really and the other really nice and helpful and called back as agreed.
Delivery people were great, very friendly and polite. Now this is the important bit.... The fitter.. words fail me at how hard this man worked, he turned up on time and when he arrived early was even going to sit in his car until it was the time he had agreed. He came from Estonia but boy did he work!!!! we had to tell him to rest and take a break. I honestley believe the reason these bedrooms are so good is down to the fitter, if anything is missing or the plans not right they are the first person we as customers get our claws into but really its not his fault, he's there to fit, he wasn't the designer or the package company. Our fitter came across problems, walls not straight, floor not straight, i think this may have frustrated him but i have to say the end result is amazing. We were expecting the worst after reading lots of reviews and yes the sales side is a bit odd.. i would advise never accept the first price, keep dropping them, don't expect the 3wk time scale but if you get the same fitter as we did im sure you will agree this man aims to please (if customer not happy he doesn't get paid) so he aims to please and he worked 10/11hrs for 2 days to fit our bedroom and even cut bottoms down so hubby could fit wooden floor underneath so we had a neat finish and he cut the holes in the fill in panels to fit hubby's l.e.d. lights! We can not express how hard this man worked and he had a 2hr travel time each way! He was amazing and we are more than happy with the quality of the workship and the look of the room.
OVERALL don't agree to their original price, be patient, we had minimal probs and i have to say the look of the bedroom we had done is amazing. The comments we have had from friends and family is an instant wow. Yes we have added our own extra's and we did our own electrics but this was with working with the fitter, because electric sockets, lights we had added, what i will say, these extras were discussed during the designing and when the surveyor came out so were all written down on paper .... but.. during the design period when my husband and i added what we like or would be nice to do was "you'll have to talk to the fitter" so don't sign anything until you have got everything down on paper.
It was arranged fitter would liase with us re certain things, we contacted Sharps and they would contact fitter, fitter didn't call til day before he was due so no time to arrange things really, time off work already taken all we can advise is don't cancel fitter coz once they are there they have to get it right as they don't get paid until customer happy and our fitter was amazing he worked like a trojan and believe me we kept and eye on him.
Are we happy customers? YES VERY HAPPY, WOULD WE DO SHARPS AGAIN? ALWAYS.....
