"Lack of respect."

I am a current employee of Halfords, and so far in the two years I have worked there, I have been threatened, pushed, and had tons of abuse from customers, over stupid matters like paying 2p for a bag, or not knowing enough about a particular product... but the thing I can't stand above anything, is the sexist comments I have to put up with. Yes, I'm a woman, I work with cars,..if you aren't going to listen to anything I have to say, then DON'T ASK ME IN THE FIRST PLACE. I get fed up with guys coming over and shouting abuse at me because they assume I just don't know what I'm talking about.

As well as this, the Halfords branch i work for have made so many staff redundant that we now have only 1 person on the shop floor on a Monday.... how stupid!!! None of us have the opportunity to take any time off because there are not enough staff to cover!! And if we want to take a shift off, even if it is for a family emergency, like mine, we have to arrange our own cover.... for me, this lead to me resigning. We physically didn't have enough staff to cover and so I just said, 'f**k this', and had to leave. What other options did I have? My family, always has, and always will , come first. And if Halfords don't like that, well that is just TOUGH. .
