"Shocking waste of packaging"

I only buy milkshakes the odd time from McDonald's. I've noticed now it has dispensed from the usual paper-based container for a plastic one, with an oversized cover I have to throw out immediately, and a special, over-sized straw which I have to throw out again to replace with a normal one. All this for a milkshake. I thought it was supposed to show more care for the environment after all this time! As a teacher, I plan school trips and none will use McDonald's in the future.
