"Unreasonable staff and conditions for ordering at Subway Mill Road"

I am very disappointed with the unreasonable staff at Subway. This problem never happens in the Subway outlet at Emmanuel street, but as I live nearer to the Subway on Mill Road, it is more convenient for me to go there.

Today my friends and I checked the promotion sign outside the outlet window on the 5 pound meal deal. Nowhere did that sign, or ANY sign at all, in the outlet, state that we had to specify that we wanted the meal deal right at the beginning, before ordering. Yet, the blond lady serving us insisted that she could not give us the meal deal since we did not tell her that we specifically wanted the meal deal, before ordering.

This is unreasonable because:

1) Nowhere does it state that we need to specify that we wanted the meal deal BEFORE ordering our food, instead of when paying for our order.

2) When we told the lady we wanted the meal deal, she had not even toasted our sandwiches. Nothing had been keyed into the till yet, and she could have easily given us the meal deal. And THIS I know for sure because of a previous incident at the same store, on which I will elaborate on later.

3) When asked for a reason why we had to notify that we wanted a meal deal at the beginning, the lady just could not come up with one. When asked if the sandwiches would be made any differently, she just repeated "You just have to tell me before you order - that's how it is".

I honestly had half a mind to walk out of the outlet right there and then. Despite her impudence and rude treatment of customers, we decided to just pay the extra for our food than we would have with the meal deal, as we did not want to waste the food.

The previous incident I mentioned earlier, happened at the same store, with the same friend, where she told the lady in the beginning that she wanted the meal deal. However, there was a different lady at the till, who did not know what my friend had wanted a meal deal, and charged her extra anyway.

It just shows that it is not absolutely necessary to specify that you want a meal deal BEFORE you order, because it didn't make a difference, and we STILL got charged extra. There seems to be no difference in the sandwiches are made, regardless of whether it is a meal deal or not, or so the staff say. So if nothing has been keyed into the till, is it not unreasonable that a customer may not request for a meal deal?.
