To avoid the charge you could try any of the following

1) Read the sign before you park. They are very clear and not hidden at the top of poles as you suggest.

2) Spend less than 1hr 40mins in the car park. Shopping at Aldi takes no more than half an hour so their limit is more than generous and there is a hidden 10 min grace period.

3) If you did actually shop in the store speak to the staff. They happily put me in contact with someone who arranged for the charge to be cancelled.

4) Walk to the store or take a taxi or the bus. If I parked in your drive which you owned and paid for you would be more than upset. The system is designed to stop people abusing the car park for the benefit of customers. You had aspace to abuse because of the system. Why do you not understand this.

5) Pay more for your shopping elsewhere. The prices others charge include more parking spaces. Make your choice!.
