"Poor service, simply turn around and walk out!"

As some customers have noted, there are shopkeepers in Cambridge, who treat students poorly. As a North American, I've never understood the need to put up with poor service, or be "polite" in response to it. You assertively say, "is there a problem?" when the shopkeeper glares at you, you repeat yourself. "If there's a problem with buying something from you, I can easily go somewhere else, so take your attitude and shove it." Then you walk out. Forget being English and well-mannered, ask them why they are treating customers this way, raise your voice, then calmly leave. Don't take this sort of thing, and don't walk into a restaurant to pay for something, tell them where to go, and LEAVE.
