"Wrong size cord"

I had a venetian blind repaired by them some years ago. They were friendly and efficient but it took me some time to realise that the reason I was having trouble with it from then on was that they had in fact used the wrong thickness of cord in rethreading it.

This meant that it did not stay up on its own and certainly could not be left half down without my putting a hook in the wall and tying the cord to it so it did not slip. It got worse over time and I thought the mechanism was just old but I then was able to compare it with a similar one and realised it was the cord at fault not the mechanism.

So check it operates as it should before you leave - not easy to do unless they can hang it as it will operate in your house for you..
