A review of Parrot Records by John T written on Thursday 8th of October 2015

I knew Parrot Records Colchester well in the early seventies and was also a regular patron at nearby Howard Leach Records. I also new Edwin Pouncey (who later became 'Savage Pencil') well - it was him that designed the smoking parrot logo for Parrot Records. However, my most memorable record purchase was at Howard Leach Records. When the Woodstock LP came out it was a 3 record set. I was in Howard Leach records complaining to him that I would have to pay the price of 3 LPs in order to get half a side of Hendrix. Without hesitation Howard took a pair of scissors and cut off the LP with the Hendrix on it and sold it to me at a third of the price of the entire set - now that was service. .
