"The place to go in Cambridge"

A review of Marks Music by Martin Randle written on Wednesday 10th of September 2003

Well my days of wandering into every music shop in Cambridge to clamber over keyboards, dabble with dials or grapple with guitars, have long gone. But I learned more about equipment and the differences between manufactureres products that way than I ever would from reading magazines.

And it is shops like Marks where you still see kids, headphones on, guitar on knee, heads down trying to fathom what the hell a flanger does and how it will improve (or not) their Goth/nu-metal/hip-hop crossover sound.

This is a shop run by musicians for musicians, it is the only place where I will buy a guitar from. I can try it, I can ask for adjustments and come back next week to try it again.

This shop IS the best one in town. Without a doubt.

Mart.
