"Initial communication very poor"

The engineers are very friendly and helpful but the receptionist is brusque and dismissive with a first response always being that the item you are experiencing problems with is no longer under guarantee. I have a camera at my front door that ceased to work. The engineer came out and discovered that it had been unplugged without my knowledge, so plugged it in. This visit cost £72. I subsequently discovered that the wiring to the camera was detached and the tape around a very shoddy connection had peeled off. The maintenance man who serviced the system said it was a very unprofessional job and live wires were exposed. He fitted a safe and secure connection to rectify the problem. However, the camera still fails to playback and is therefore useless. When I called to report this, the passive aggressive reception I got again was “it’s not under guarantee” even though the fault was caused by poor workmanship. I have had lots of other parts of the system failing and have always had to deal with the unpleasant receptionist. She is a very poor front of house representative for this company and detracts from the helpfulness of the rest of the team but it’s probably difficult to sack your wife, even if she is a liability..
