Review : CAE course at Eurocenters, Cambridge

Eurocenters Cambridge is located very near the city centre of Cambridge, a city with great culture, architecture and students. It offers many courses and the teaching methods are not old fashioned. Before I came here I thought it would be a great experience and probably the time of my life. on my arrival I was pleasantly surprised by what I found.

The school is located in one of the world most famous and popular studentcities, Cambridge. Young people from all over the world come here to enjoy student-life. the opportunities to explore are numerous; there is something for everyone. You can enjoy sports, theatre visits, pubs, clubs and shopping. the school itselfs organises also many things. It is possible to play golf, football and actually whatever you like with students from your school, which makes a great social interaction at the same time. Furthermore they organise many activitities, like visiting museums, going to the theatre, concerts and parties. Lastly there are many excursions available to the greatest cities of England, like Edinburgh, Oxford and London. It is often said that time in Cambridge does not stand still, I have to admit that that is correct.

Eurocenters has a great diversity of courses to choose from. Wether you are a beginner or advanced student. Also there is the possibility to choose how many hours you want, basic or very intensive, ranging form 20 to 30. In addition there are also classes for exam preparation and business, focussing on specific kinds of language. The classes are not to big, so there is more than enough contact between teacher and student. I am taking CAE class now, which means that I am preparing for the Avanced Cambridge Exam. This is the fast track to success in international communications, and gain valuable qualifications.

However, there is one main stumbling block; the electronical facilities in the school are not as up to date as I supposed. The computers are often not working, and if they work, they are too slow. Secondly there is the listening centre, a nice concept but also dramatically out dated.

When you are staying in Cambridge there are two possible accomodations available. Firstly you can choose for a hostfamily, all in walkingdistance from the school. If you want more freedom and also cook for yourself then there is the possibility to live in a residence. Here you live with many other students, also from other schools and is great opportunity to meet other people and actually do what you want.

So overall Cambridge is the place to learn English in my opinion. Eurocenters is a pretty good school, wether you are an eager beaver or reluctant chicken. Have fun!
