10 year warranty.... YOU'LL NEED IT (if they ever turn up)

I purchased Coldseal windows in 1997, 4 door lock mechanisms (one of which left us with an open front door) and 5 replacement sealed units later I now have another 5 (not so ) sealed units waiting replacement.

After registering my call in April of last year (2003) I was advised someone would be out to measure up within 6 weeks. In June I was advised that the units would be ready in a further 6 weeks.

In August, September, October, November and December we sat in telephone queues for hours racking up calls in excess of £25.00 ON MY LAST PHONE BILL. But hey, they're a busy crowd at Redditch service centre so in September I paid a visit. Strange no sign outside, walked upstairs to discover the call centre consisted of three girls with desks, telephones and PC's.

I must say they didn't like meeting the customer very much. But they promised my windows were in stock and would be fitted in December. I said this was unacceptable so they brought it forward to 6th October "Great I'll book the day off"

Guess what? No Show.

A few more calls finally got a fitter from Mansfield.

Guess what? Wrong Windows

More calls to Redditch, asked for the Service Manager to call me. Another broken promises

Saw BBC's Watchdog, didn't feel re-assured by the promises of service improvement.

Wife phoned Redditch again this week. They said "I think it's best if we start again".

Now looking through the misty dirty glass 10 months on waiting to be measured up again.

Do you think they are waiting for the warranty to expire?

At least Heyward cared
