A review of Pret A Manger by Jason written on Wednesday 12th of March 2003
Very impressed with Pret a Manger. In terms of value, their coffee about half the price of places like Starbucks. In terms of quality, it is just as good.
The place has a comfortable modern atmosphere, is always clean and the staff are friendly and hard working.
Pret-a-Manger also have respectable ethical values: there is a plaque on the wall by the counter which specifies the company's policy on waste - and invites local charities who could make good use of their leftovers each day to get in touch.
They also promote fair trade coffee, a nice gesture coming from a business in the coffee industry, an industry almost totally ruled by giant corporations who exploit poor farmers.
I recommend Pret a Manger's sandwiches too, which are all freshly made on the day. There are usually two or three imaginative vetetarian options..
