A review of La Tasca by Phil Miles written on Sunday 18th of July 2004
Myself and partner headed for La Tasca in trepidation and excitement. After all, this place had gained so much grapevine positivity and we were both fans of tapas. I think that's where the positiveness ends and the nightmare begins. I'll keep this short. Packed out; no booking; expensive beers; eventual table similar to eating in the concourse of Victoria Station; lack of service; food arrives (literally) three and a half minutes after placing order; poor food portions; lack of taste; out of door within 35 minutes of arraiving.
To me, the only thing lacking is the gold M for fast food trash. What a truly awful place. No care in food preparation (it's almost as if they are proud of the fact that the food arrives faster than a Happy Meal), and loud and claustrophobic atmosphere. Never again. .
