A review of Bella Italia by Maria written on Tuesday 24th of August 2004
Contrary to the review published in 2003, I have found Mamma Amalfi to be a great restaurant. I moved back to Croydon in 2003 after numerous years overseas and, although it's far from being the best town in the universe, it does have a great selection of restaurants. Mamma Amalfi, in my view, is one of the better ones. Last New Year's Eve was just one of the numerous occasions I have been there with my boyfriend and, although the dinner menu was set, we had a wonderful evening embellished by live opera singers walking up and down the middle of the room -- it was fantastic. Late night shopping trips have been spurred on by a quick coffee and desert visit; warm evenings in the sun have been made all the more pleasant by sitting outside with a great bottle of wine. Never once have they made a mistake with our bookings and the food has been consistantly good. Try it, you might like it too..
