A review of Footlights Restaurant & Bar by Cathy written on Monday 18th of July 2005
We popped in to Footlights for a light lunch yesterday - a hot Sunday in July. There was a good choice of appealing-sounding dished on the menu, and I chose a baked potato with Jamaican chicken, while my husband had the Ploughman's salad. Sadly when the dishes arrived they did not live up to expectations. The ploughmans consisted of grated cheddar and haloumi cheese with bizarrely purple-coloured coleslaw, a slice of orange and a pickled egg. My baked potato was of the soggy microwaved variety, and the 'side salad' that was supposed to accompany it turned out to be one leaf of lettuce and half a tomato. At £4.95 for a tiny potato, I found this very over-priced.
Service was pleasant enough, but the food was really disappointing, and I would expect much higher quality for the amount we were charged. We will not be going back..
