"Differing Prices"

Having seen a fitted wardrobe by Sharps in my sister in law's bedroom we decided to get a quote for a similar wardrobe to be fitted. The salesman, sorry, should call him a designer, duly arrived and after much measuring and drawing came up with a list of figures which were quite frankly mind boggling. First of all he quoted a price of some £5000 plus, then proceeded to tell me that because they had a 50% reduction offer and with a couple of other discount vouchers that he happened to have with him the price would be reduced to some £2000 plus. Now knowing what my sister in law had paid for hers I told the salesman, sorry, designer (slapped wrists!!) that the price was far too much and that I wanted an absolute bottom price, he then proceeded to ask me how I would be paying, when I told him that I didn't want to take out their finance option he seemed surprised and told me that he would have to phone his 'boss'. He duly returned with a further insignificant discount which was in excess of a £1000 more that my sister in law had paid. Now I must admit that our wardrobe would have been slightly bigger than that of my sister in law, but not a £1000+ bigger. I then made him an offer bearing in mind what my sister in law had paid plus about 40%. This offer was refused so I showed the salesman to the door saying that if he changed his mind, then I would place an order straight away.

Now the moral of this story is aimed at these companies that come up with these incomprehensible prices and offers, cut the crap and give us your bottom price, life would be so much easier. .
