It seems to me that a lot of the posts on here are opinion and frustration at being held to a contract which, had anyone read through properly before signing, are issues that should not arise. All contracts should clearly display repayment amounts and APR amounts.

I have a car loan with Welcome and am happily paying 38.3% because I know my credit is up the swannee at the moment.

One piece of advice though - anyone on a Hire Purchase agreement has the legal right to hand the car back halfway through the contract and walk away. Check your agreement for the details. This is, of course, subject to the condition of the car - if you have ragged your car silly and it is now worth less than a packet of crisps (and slower too!), you ain't going to be able to walk away without coughing up for repairs. But then again, whose fault would that be?.
