"Disappointed - they only give 2 week guarantee"

Up until today, I was very pleased with All Alts in Cambridge. I always had good service and the workmanship was of high quality. In all, I have had six or seven pairs of trousers hemmed there. I brought a pair of trousers there about six weeks ago, but the hem came undone on one leg after wearing them only 2-3 times. Because I work during the week and All Alts is closed on Sundays, the only day I can get there is Saturday. So today I went there, out of my way, to bring the trousers in for repair. Because they have always been courteous, I expected them to say "So sorry, we will fix this for you, when would you like to pick them up?" That wasn't what happened. They wanted to charge me £3 to repair them. Not a lot of money, but it is the principal of the thing. "We only guarantee the work for two weeks," he said. "After that, normal wear and tear damage the clothing" he said. After wearing only 2-3 times?! "Your toenail could have snagged it," he said. Ludicrous. I have perfectly manicured toes beneath the nylon knee-highs I wear to work, there is no way that happened. I would have expected All Alts to ensure their work for more than two weeks. Wouldn't you? I am not going back..
