A review of Midsummer House by Debra written on Wednesday 27th of July 2005
We've dine here many times in the last few years, the most recent being -June 2005.
The food is superb as ever, but the staff have changed and instead of very interested articulate French waiting staff we were waited on by girls who when explaining the dish looked over your head as if reading from a board, and bored is what came across.
This is with exception of the Sommelier who was a delight, who also seemed to be doing everyone's else's job. I think maybe they need to get up to speed but paying £280 for two people in a Michelin star restaurant I already expect them to be up to speed.
We had to wait over half an hour for the bill and asked in the end 3 times for it. .
