A review of Halfords by NoMorePlease written on Monday 1st of November 2010
Unfortunately, my insurance company forces me to replace my stolen bikes at Halfords. Otherwise I would have gone to a more local shop, such as Station Cycles or Howes.
On the plus side, I found the young chap I dealt with very knowledgable and gave me good advice. Clearly he likes cycles and is a credit to Cambridge's youth. However, the Halfords management are not providing him with any sort of support. There are not enough staff and the systems they must use are badly implemented/developed. I walked into the shop knowing pretty much exactly what I wanted. 2 hours later I walked out having made my order. Needless to say, if I wasn't forced to select my bikes from Halfords then I would have gone elsewhere. I counted about 10 people who got fed up of waiting and left without paying.
I do not blame the staff. They are doing what they can. I blame Halfords management for giving me the worst retail experience of my life.
People, take my advice and go elsewhere for bikes..
