A review of The Oak Bistro by Andrew written on Monday 3rd of August 2009
Being on the edge of the city centre probably helps this excellent restaurant: it's reasonably priced (around £20 a head for main, dessert and glass of wine), has room for a delightful courtyard with views of the RC church and has attracted polite, gracious staff who really seem to care about what they're doing.
The preparation of the very tasty food is elegant and well-judged: an excellent trio of fishcakes with crisp, salted fries; a generous and expertly-dressed side salad; a faultless chocolate fondant and ice cream. We'll be going back without any hesitation.
Just go to The Oak Bistro and enjoy!.
