A review of University Cycles by Tom R written on Monday 9th of October 2017
Even though it's a dark oily tunnel filled with bikes, components, tools and random gubbins on all sides, under foot and even over your head. You don't so much walk in as tunnel, and it is often necessary to clamber through or over other customers and the proprietor himself. Lord alone knows how Colin finds anything, I can only assume he's got a photographic memory for where every spanner, washer and bracket is.
Colin is a complete legend. He has massive patience with the diverse and endless stream of folk who come in for bits, bikes, repairs, consumer advice and in some cases therapy. He has converted much of Cambridge to the joys of Dutch bicycles, and once you've gone Dutch, you never go back. I dunno how he affords the rent, as he seems to sell everything at cost or below. In a better world there'd be a 30 foot statue of him on Midsummer Common..
